Troops riding on the back of a tank.
A photograph taken by the platoon medic of soldiers of my Dad's unit hitching a ride on the back of a tank at Xom Moi(pronounced Zom Moy). My Dad is sitting hunched over on the lower part of the back of tank under the spare wheel. He has the Radio telephone against his left ear and he is hunched over to avoid any enemy sniper fire. RTOs(Radio Telephone Operator) often made inviting targets for enemy snipers.

Dad and Lucas, 1966.
The original color photograph of Lucas(backgound) and my Dad from which the black and white photo on the main page was created from. The back of the photo reads, "Near Cambodia July 66. "The Parrots Beak of V.N.". Me and Alan Lucas, "May he rest in peace" (there is also a small peace sign). Lucas was my Dad's first RTO when he was a Forward Observer. Lucas became a Forward observer later on. He was killed in an ambush during October of 1966. May he rest in peace.
